Recipies

Can anyone recommend some good recipies or meal ideas for a diabetic Type 1?
It would be a tremendous help if you good recommend some meals or recipies or even direct me to a website with full menus. Thanks.
Here is a good source with lots of diabetic Recipes (low sugar, lowest sugar) that may help you:

II have the same problem. I actually went to a dietitian in the hopes to plot out a whole months’ worth of meals that I could just repeat every month, but she didn’t give me that. She gave me guidelines and let me borrow from her shelf of cookbooks to find lower-carbohydrate recipes. I did not finish the entire 30-day menu. (It’s a pretty hard task to count carbs in each food choice, put protein/veg/starch choices together for 30 meals!
For example, here are the guidelines that she gave me: ( I am 110 lbs. and these recommendations were to maintain my weight)
1. Meat portion should be no larger than a pack of cards (too much protein can damage kidneys)
2. The mainstays of food plan should be vegetables, legumes, fruit and nuts.
3. To decrease high risk of heart disease, abide hydrogenated oils and fats (the kind that are solid at room temperature, like margarine, but harden at cool temperatures). Choose mono saturated oils (like olive oil, for example).
4. When eating out, try to judge the protein, fats, and carbs in each item, remembering to figure in any heavy sauces or condiments, and choose accordingly.
5. A good dinner includes a protein, 2 vegetables, a starch.
6. I (personally) should have no more than 35 total carbohydrates per breakfast, lunch and dinner, and 2 snacks a day of 15 total carbohydrates per snack.
I hope this info helps. And if you ever sit down and actually write out a plan for diabetic Type I meals for a month, please contact me and share, because I can increase or decrease the amounts of the recipes for my body size.
